Phil Barlow is a Strategic Architect employed by VMware working across the Asia Pacific region. Phil has been employed by VMware since 2006, working with some of VMware’s largest global customers to develop their virtualization strategies and progress to 100% virtual deployments. In his current role he is consulting with customers on their journey to the Cloud and how VMware can assist them on their journey.

Andrew Mitchell is a 7 year veteran of VMware with 20 years experience in communications and technology related fields, starting out as a software developer for corporations such as IBM and GE before venturing into the world of infrastructure and virtualization. Andrew was the Asia-Pacific region’s first VCDX qualified practitioner (VCDX #30) and is now regularly called upon to participate in VCDX certification panels world-wide. In his current position as a Strategic Architect for VMware covering the Asia-Pacific/Japan region, Andrew’s role sees him specializing in private and public cloud architecture and virtualization of business critical applications.


 CSlater   Chris Slater. Senior Consultant, VMware Professional Services Australia/New Zealand

Chris Slater (VCDX #102) is a VMware Senior Consultant who provides solution design  and implementation services for VMware’s Professional Services  Organisation. Chris specialises in Australian Federal Government customers and implementation of vSphere solutions in accordance with government security practises and guidelines.  Chris has delivered a varying number of solutions during his career from Remote Access and Two-Factor authentication to VDI and vSphere  implementations in environments with 1000+ ESX hosts. Chris started his career at the Australian Bureau of Statistics with GSX and ESX 2.0 and was able to implement one of the first fully virtualized environments in Australian government including a fully virtualized gateway environment. Chris also holds a Bachelor of Information Technology from the  Australian National University.
